Having been to the first two Kaiyuan Senbo resorts, I can compare them not only to other family hotels but also against each other. The conclusion is that this Zhoushan Senbo is truly different!
The most intuitive difference is that this is the first seaside Senbo.
The hotel is located at Zhujiajian in Zhoushan, which is one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunset. To put it simply, without any seawater mixed in, this is the Chess Piece Bay of Zhoushan! Take a look at our actual photos, showcasing the beautiful sunset and evening glow!
Moreover, the location of this Senbo is very convenient, allowing you to visit other attractions around Zhoushan easily. It’s just a 7-minute drive to the beach, 15 minutes to Guanyin Dharma Realm and Zhujiajian Wugongzhi Pier, and a quick 15-minute boat ride can take you to Putuo Mountain. Arranging a 3-day, 2-night itinerary here is simply perfect!
Additionally, I’ve noticed many family hotels cater only to the kids; as long as the children are happy, the parents are satisfied as well. However, if both can have their fair share of joy, that would be ideal! It’s a fantastic deal! Let’s do the math. The tickets to the amusement park are quite valuable; buying two tickets to the Water Park costs 376 yuan. The tickets to Fantasy Island are slightly cheaper at about 198 yuan for one adult and one child. I assume most will choose the Water Park.
Honestly, just the room already covers the value of the ticket, essentially booking the room gives you free tickets, which means you’re guaranteed a profit!
Today, all room types are located in the main building. Staying in the main building provides a dedicated passage directly to the amusement park; you can head there in a bathrobe, regardless of whether it’s hailing outside, and still enjoy yourself inside. Additionally, single purchase tickets are valid for one entry. Hotel guests can enter and exit as many times as they wish until 12 pm the next day after exchanging tickets. You can indeed take a nice midday nap and continue playing in the afternoon.
The rooms at Zhoushan Senbo are better than the previous two Senbos, with base room types starting at 47㎡, each Elegant Mountain View room features a large balcony and a bathtub, with good hardware configuration.

While the sea at Zhujiajian may not be a brilliant blue, it is definitely worthwhile to stay in a sea view room by the seaside. Due to room type limitations, the Elegant Sea View rooms may not always have bathtubs, but a large balcony is standard, allowing you to watch a stunning sunset over the sea without leaving the room.
The main difference between the Elegant Mountain View and Sea View rooms is simply their visuals, while the configurations are fairly similar.

If you’re planning to stay for two nights, this package is a great choice. On top of the amusement park entry tickets, it also includes tickets for the four attractions at Interstellar Space. Tickets for these attractions are charged per item, ranging from 40-60 yuan each. The all-inclusive concept means you can either try every attraction once or revisit one multiple times. However, because the benefits are tied to a wristband, the Interstellar Space attractions can only be used by one person.
Moreover, the room type for the two-night package is at a higher tier; the Deluxe Sea View room offers higher floors with better views of the sea.

This option is recommended for families with two children, as this room type is tailored for families with two little ones. The room comfortably accommodates a large 1.8 m bed and bunk beds, with a spacious layout. The bathroom features both high and low sinks, and all other supplies are provided for four people.
Senbo has vast experience in family hotels and provides child-specific toiletries, slippers, bathrobes, stepping stools, and child-friendly toilet seats, making traveling with kids much easier.
As for the Sea View rooms, this room type is 50 yuan more expensive per night compared to the Elegant Sea View. Typically, the calendar price for Sea View Family Rooms is over a thousand yuan. The opening package also includes a full meal, making it very cost-effective!

Now, let me give you a detailed introduction to this Senbo.
The hotel is located in Zhujiajian, and the best way to get to Zhoushan is by driving. I drove from Hangzhou, which took about 3 hours, while from Shanghai, it takes around 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a high-speed train to Ningbo Station and then take a taxi for about 1.5 hours to get to the hotel. Zhoushan Putuo Mountain Airport is also in Zhujiajian.
A one-night stay in Zhoushan is fine, but I recommend a 3-day, 2-night itinerary for more fun: one day for praying and enjoying seafood, and another day for playing in the amusement park.
The entire resort area is quite extensive, featuring not only the hotel and amusement park but also a commercial street filled with restaurants, bookstores, tea shops, coffee shops, and more.
The Zhoushan Senbo amusement park consists of three parts: the indoor water park, Fantasy Island (Children’s Playground), and an outdoor land amusement park, which adds a land theme park that the other two Senbos lack. The indoor water park is the main attraction; among the three Kaiyuan Senbos, the Mogan Mountain Senbo has the largest area, while Zhoushan and Hangzhou Xianghu Senbo are similar in size.
The Zhoushan Senbo indoor water park maintains a constant temperature of 30°C and is open throughout the year. It features a mega slide combination, a lazy river, a wave pool, an interactive climbing wall, and 13 large water play facilities, bringing the total to 30 water play projects. It really offers both water play and sand play, catering to every child’s wishes.
The water park is suitable for all ages, featuring low-stimulation projects for younger kids, as well as thrilling rides for adults familiar with the unpredictable swings of the stock market. Honestly, even as an adult, I find the Senbo water park quite appealing.
The other main park, Fantasy Island, includes over 20 amusement activities like a ball pit, spiral slides, and climbing nets, making it particularly suitable for younger children, with a minimum design age of 6 months.
The design inspiration behind Fantasy Island comes from the mysterious ocean, allowing kids to play and explore in this 1,600 m² “fantasy sea.”
While parents have to keep an eye on the kids in the water park, at Fantasy Island, they can truly take a “break” and let the kids explore on their own; there’s a dedicated resting area for parents. Children naturally enter into play mode.
Both the water park and Fantasy Island have daily activities, including magical balloon events and lively disco sessions, with little instructors leading the kids through play; each activity usually lasts about 10-15 minutes, and these activities are all free.
A good family hotel needs to satisfy both the kids and the parents as well. Generally speaking, one child can keep one parent busy; non-parenting adults without active kids can head to the second floor of Fantasy Island, which features a music boxing gym, karaoke rooms, a pool table, and a games room.
The games room is particularly stylish; even I, who don’t have a gaming addiction, feel tempted to give it a try. If several families agree to hang out together, the Zhoushan Senbo would be a lively and fun place to visit.
The Senbo Interstellar Space is the first of its kind in Zhoushan and is currently the largest zero-gravity park there. It includes four projects, and if you book the deluxe sea view room for two nights, the admission tickets will be included.
