We are very cautious about recommending the Maldives.
You can tell by the frequency of our recommendations for the Maldives; during Singles’ Day (Double 11), we only promoted one option and have not recommended the Maldives since then.
Most people go to the Maldives only once, so our recommendations must be selective. We are indeed very picky; we need a nice island and a unique offer that meets our criteria—it’s a dilemma!
Unlike within the country, we don’t have much influence in the Maldives; their impression of travel might be comparable to the “Four Great Classic Novels”.
Today, we introduce the Jawakara hotel in the Maldives, a new six-star island belonging to the CCR Group in the Maldives (though I think calling it a five-star would be more reliable). It opened in October 2023. It features a dual-island setup with a long trailing beach.
First, let’s post the product:

Specific pricing is as follows:
From now until April 30, 2024 (check-out date), 13099 yuan per person; this period is the peak season in the Maldives.
From May 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024 (check-out date), 9999 yuan per person; no price increase for May Day, Dragon Boat Festival, and summer vacation.
From October 1, 2024, to October 31, 2024 (check-out date), 10499 yuan per person; during the National Day holiday, it’s only 10499 yuan per person.
If the stay crosses into a different price period (for example, checking in on September 29 and checking out on October 3), you cannot enjoy this special price and need to inquire with the customer service of the Fliggy self-operated store.
Room occupancy limits and third-person policies:
Before March 31, the maximum occupancy per room is 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults.
The first child (11.99 years and below) stays free, taxes and transportation apply. For ages 0-1.99, 199 yuan per person; for ages 2-11.99, 2699 yuan per person.
The second child is charged at the child rate. For ages 0-1.99, 199 yuan per person; for ages 2-11.99, 6899 yuan per person.
The third adult is charged: 8699 yuan per person for ages 12 and above.
From April to October, the maximum occupancy per room is 2 adults and 1 child or 3 adults.
Children aged 0-1.99 stay free, but an environmental tax is charged at 199 yuan per person. For ages 2-11.99, 2699 yuan per person; the third adult is charged: 8699 yuan per person for ages 12 and above.
From May to September, guests staying can enjoy a free upgrade from Mabin Beach Villa to Mabin Beach Pool Villa.
The Mabin Beach Villa is a beach villa, while the Mabin Beach Pool Villa is a beach villa with a pool, with the area upgraded from 78 m² to 101 m².
The difference includes a swimming pool and a larger room area; the upgrade is very noticeable.

I will provide a detailed introduction to the Jawakara resort.
The resort is part of the Crown & Champa Resorts Group (CCR) in the Maldives. CCR has been in the Maldives for over 40 years, with ten resorts (islands) and one hotel in Malé.
Among CCR’s notable resorts is the Fushifaru Island, famous for its underwater restaurant, which is considered a highlight in the Maldives.
Fushifaru and Jawakara are located in the same atoll; you can even take a speedboat from Jawakara to dine at the underwater restaurant in Fushifaru (of course, this incurs additional costs).

Jawakara resort is situated in the Lhaviyani Atoll, requiring a 35-minute domestic flight plus a 40-minute speedboat transfer or a 40-minute water plane ride to the island.
If you choose the water plane upgrade, the additional charge is 850 yuan per person.
Let me highlight Jawakara’s features.
First, it’s a dual island resort.
A dual island means there are two islands in the resort, connected by an ultra-long walkway (650 meters) allowing you to enjoy both the large island Mabin and the smaller island Dheru’s different atmospheres.
The advantage of having two islands is that you can experience both at once. Dual islands are quite rare in the Maldives, and even more so than trailing beaches.
Also, this long walkway is incredibly beautiful.
Mabin Island is 1400 meters long, 300 meters wide, and covers approximately 38.4 hectares (94.89 acres).
There is ample space and expansive views, perfect for peaceful nature walks or biking.
The smaller Dheru Island measures 450 meters in length and 150 meters in width, covering about 5.8 hectares (14.33 acres), providing a more private experience.
Secondly, the island features a trailing beach.
Trailing beaches are perfect for photography. Jawakara resort is a natural island, surrounded by lush vegetation and pristine white sandy beaches.

Daily free snorkeling trips are also included.
It’s common to offer free snorkeling, but there are not many islands providing free boat snorkeling trips.
Near the hotel is the Maldives’ largest coral reef, home to numerous green sea turtles, and various types of dolphins can also be spotted. Recently, whale sharks and orcas have even been sighted.
Mabin Island also boasts the largest 9-hole golf course in the Maldives. If you love golfing, this place will be quite suitable for you.
This package includes 2 beach villas and 2 water villas. And from May to September, guests will be upgraded to pool beach villas for free.
Let me describe these room types.
Mabin Beach Villa, a beach villa on Mabin Island, has an area of 78 m².
From May to September, the upgraded Mabin Beach Pool Villa has an area of 101 m².
The water villa is the Mabin Water Pool Villa, situated on Mabin Island.
Mabin Island features low-density water villas, with only 40 total on the island. The aesthetics of the water villas are among the best.
The area of the water pool villa is 107 m².
Jawakara island opened on October 22, 2023; newly opened hotels generally do not lack in hardware.
I will also mention the two free restaurants included in the package, where breakfast and dinner will be served.
The Saima Restaurant is a beachfront buffet restaurant.
The Aila Restaurant is also by the sea, with some dining spots on the beach, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere of a candlelit dinner on the beach.
However, we have not visited this island yet, so we are not sure about the specific dishes. For most islands in the Maldives, buffet meals are quite filling, but the taste might be questionable.
The HB (half board) package allows for a leisurely breakfast. It seems breakfast is served until 10:30, so you can arrive a bit late; dining until after 11 would not be a problem. Dinner can also be eaten earlier with no issues.
