Hands up! Super long validity period, including summer vacation and National Day without price increase.

Today we will introduce a total of 12 hotels in Thailand, of which we have visited 7 in the past year. We hope the percentage of places we’ve been to will be higher next time.
Even when recommending overseas hotels, we insist that we must have personally stayed and experienced them, and have our own real photos.
This not only makes our recommendations more convincing but more importantly, helps avoid pitfalls; we are not sure how good hotels we haven’t visited really are.

Bangkok

image18.png

1) SO/Bangkok Hotel 2 nights (without breakfast), 1390 THB
Valid until December 19, 2024; no price increase during National Days, summer vacation (excluding weekends); no price increase in November and December (excluding weekends), with a 110 THB weekend surcharge per night.

image19.png

image20.png

image21.png

That’s an incredibly good price!!!! SO/ is a lifestyle brand under Accor, known for being avant-garde and fashionable, with only 10 SO/ hotels worldwide. I’ve stayed at the ones in Bangkok and Hua Hin and particularly liked them.

image22.png

image23.png

image24.png

Here are some pictures from my stay in Bangkok’s SO/.

image25.png

This SO/ stands out for its excellent location, right near Lumpini Park in the heart of Bangkok, close to the Lumpini subway station. Bangkok’s Banyan Tree, COMO, and Sukhothai are all in this area, so it’s clear how good the location is.
SO/ faces a park, and being a high-rise hotel, it offers great views.
Those familiar with Bangkok hotels might have seen pictures of the pool at SO/.

image26.png

image27.png

image28.png

The rooftop bar at SO/ provides an amazing view of the city, and the atmosphere here is lively at night.

image29.png

On the first floor of SO/, there is a good café as well as an in-house bakery.

image30.png

Since it’s a lifestyle hotel, activities are naturally plentiful.

image31.png

Every last Saturday of the month, Bangkok SO/ hosts a pool party. When we stayed there, it coincided with this event. I can only say that Thai people really know how to have fun, as this pool party lasts from day to night.

Now let’s discuss the rooms at Bangkok SO/. The base package is the Cozy Room, measuring 38 m², which is considered the basic room type at SO/.
Let me show you some of my pictures.

image32.png

image33.png

Normally, SO/ is not cheap; a rate of over 1000 THB a night is common.

Breakfast included packages are also available.
Bangkok SO/ hotel 2 nights with breakfast, 1521 THB

image39.png

Valid until December 19, 2024, with no price increase during National Days and summer vacations (except weekends), and no price increase in November and December (except weekends), with a 110 THB surcharge per night on weekends.

image40.png

image41.png

image42.png

Personally, I recommend the package that includes breakfast, as it’s pretty reliable. First, the breakfast area offers great outdoor dining with a nice view, making it comfortable.

image43.png

image44.png

Secondly, they offer a solid selection, with plenty of local Bangkok specialties as well as some Western dishes, so you can easily find something you like.

2) COMO Metropolitan Bangkok Metropolitan Room 3 nights with breakfast, 2413 THB

Valid until October 31, 2024, with no price increase during National Day, summer vacation, or weekends.

image46.png

On average, that’s over 800 THB a night, including breakfast. Don’t be fooled by the low price; it only reflects the base room type of 26-39 m². This package offers the Metropolitan Room, which is much larger at 51-54 m², making a big difference.

I’ve stayed at COMO Metropolitan Bangkok twice, and it’s one of only two urban COMO hotels, designed by Singaporean designer Kathryn Kng.

image47.png

image48.png

It stands out for being elegant, quiet, upscale, and discreet, even in bustling Bangkok.
When Tony Leung and Carina Lau got married, they chose COMO in Bhutan for their wedding.

Let me show you the room at COMO, featuring a clean, comfortable, and minimalist aesthetic with a white, brown, and black color theme.

image49.png

Below is a real picture of the Metropolitan Room, which I stayed in during my last visit.

image50.png

image51.png

image52.png

The bathroom is also exceptionally spacious, entirely in white, which looks amazing.

image53.png

image54.png

The room is minimalist, but the quality of both the hardware and software is top-notch. The bedding consists of Egyptian cotton and down; even the bathrobes are Armani.

This is what they call understated luxury.

The service at COMO is also exceptional.

image55.png

For instance, my flight from Bangkok to Paro, Bhutan, was scheduled for 6 AM, so I left the hotel at 3 AM. By that time, COMO had prepared breakfast for me in advance.

There are many more highlights of COMO in Bangkok; their Thai restaurant Nahm has a Michelin star and was once among Asia’s Top 50 restaurants. I’ve dined there, and the Thai food was excellent while reasonably priced.

image56.png

They also have a resident cat named Tiger, who works as the doorman, welcoming guests at the hotel entrance. During my stay this time, I finally met Tiger working.

image57.png

image58.png

image59.png

The outdoor pool at COMO is also fantastic.

image60.png

COMO Metropolitan Bangkok 3 nights with breakfast + 30-minute couple’s Thai massage for 2608 THB
Valid until October 31, 2024, with no price increase during National Day, summer vacation, or weekends.

image61.png

image62.png

This package simply adds a couple’s 30-minute Thai massage.

image63.png

image64.png

image65.png

3) Bangkok 137 PIllars Apartment Hotel Business Studio Apartment 1 night (without breakfast), 871 THB

image66.png

image67.png

Valid until September 30, 2024, with no price increase on any date.

image68.png

137 Pillars is quite famous.
The first one in Chiang Mai was converted from a 19th-century teak mansion. The second one is in Bangkok and features a stunning 32nd-floor infinity pool that’s very eye-catching.
Let me share an image; anyone familiar with Bangkok hotels will recognize their incredible pool, one of the best high-rise pools in the city!

image69.png

image70.png

image71.png

However!!! This time the package is for the 137 Pillars Apartment Hotel, which is considered a more affordable alternative.

The apartment hotel shares the same building as the 137 Pillars Suites Hotel, with apartments located on floors 6-23, while the suites are on floors 24-32. Other common areas are available for both, sharing the same lovely ambiance.
This means that although you stay at the apartment, you won’t have access to the rooftop pool on the 32nd floor. You’ll be able to use the pool on the 21st floor, beautiful but not as spectacular. I have to clarify this distinction, so if someone uses the 32nd-floor pool as a selling point for the 137 Pillars Apartment Hotel, that’s misleading. It happens more often than you think!

image72.png

The shared areas include the gym, bar, restaurant, spa, etc.

The room type in this package is a Business Studio Apartment. Although it may seem smaller, the actual area is 40-45 m², enough for two people.

image73.png

image74.png

Some channels refer to this room type as an Executive Open-plan Apartment; essentially, they are the same.

image75.png

image76.png

On average, this room type sells for over 1000 THB a night, and this time it’s 871 THB, though the discount isn’t huge, it’s still valuable.

Bangkok 137 PIllars Apartment Hotel Business Studio Apartment 1 night with breakfast, 979 THB

image85.png

image86.png

Valid until September 30, 2024, with no price increase on any date.

image87.png

image88.png

This package includes breakfast, but the apartment hotel offers breakfast in the lobby restaurant, while the suite hotel serves breakfast on the 26th floor, which is something to keep in mind.

4) Bangkok HOMM Sukhumvit 34 Hotel (Banyan Tree Group) 2 nights with breakfast, 871 THB
Valid until December 20, 2024; National Day (October 1-7) surcharge of 110 THB per night, no price increase on other days.

image95.png

image96.png

HOMM Sukhumvit 34 Hotel is part of Banyan Tree Group, newly opened in 2022 and located in the heart of Sukhumvit, Bangkok.
If you’re familiar with Bangkok, you’d know that Sukhumvit is the trendiest and most creative area in the city, filled with numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes. It’s often compared to Shanghai’s Pudong.

image97.png

The basic room measures 30 m². Being a newly opened hotel under Banyan Tree, you can expect good quality hardware.

image98.png

image99.png

5) Bangkok Pullman King Power Hotel Superior Room 1 night (without breakfast), 697 THB
Valid until October 31, 2024; no price increases during National Day, summer vacation, or weekends.

image100.png

I’ve stayed here, too; the location is fantastic, with Bangkok’s KING Power duty-free shop right downstairs. Perfect for shopping.
The hotel has a connecting walkway straight to the duty-free shop. The duty-free shop is currently running many promotions, such as giving away vouchers that can be used without minimum spending.

image101.png

image102.png

Moreover, near the Phaya Thai station, you’ll find the subway, and the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link goes directly to the airport, making transportation very convenient.

image103.png

image104.png

image105.png

This Pullman has a city resort feel, and the rooftop pool is quite chilly and relaxing.

image106.png

The landscaping in the hotel atrium is exceptionally beautiful.
This hotel has staff who speak Chinese, as it’s a duty-free hotel, so communication is easy and stress-free.

image107.png

image108.png

The package includes a Superior Room that measures 32 m². Although this hotel opened in 2007, it seems like the rooms have been refurbished, as they look very new.

image109.png

image110.png

image111.png

Here are some real photos from my stay there this year.

image112.png

image113.png

Normally, this hotel would cost over 800 THB per night without breakfast, and now it’s less than 700 THB, which I think is quite a bargain.

Hua Hin

image124.png

image125.png

6) Hua Hin Resort Intercontinental Hotel Classic King Bed Room 2 nights with breakfast + 500 THB dining voucher + Vana Nava Water Park ticket, 1758 THB

image126.png

Valid until March 31, 2025; no price increase during National Day and summer vacation (except Saturdays), no use on New Year’s Day or Spring Festival, with a surcharge of 279 THB per night on Saturdays, and no price increase from November to March (except Saturdays).

Having stayed here, it’s a seaside resort directly connected to the beach.

image127.png

This hotel is known for its excellent amenities; it’s right in Hua Hin’s city center, connecting not only to the beach but also to a large shopping mall, which has many dining, entertainment, and shopping options.

image128.png

Furthermore, Hua Hin Resort Intercontinental Hotel features an on-site water park geared towards guests (the owner’s), and this package includes tickets for two to the water park. There are plenty of fun activities here, which are quite thrilling.

image129.png

image130.png

image131.png

The hotel is less than a 5-minute drive to the water park, and they provide shuttle services to get there (during my previous visit, we had transportation, and I believe this package will likely follow the same arrangement).

image132.png

image133.png

Of course, the Hua Hin Intercontinental itself is also quite nice. The hotel has beautiful landscaping and is considered a garden hotel; during our visit, the frangipani trees were in full bloom, looking gorgeous.

image134.png

image135.png

image136.png

The outdoor pools are plentiful and directly connected to the beach, which is one of the highlights of Hua Hin Intercontinental; several sun loungers are arranged by the pool for relaxation.

image137.png

image138.png

image139.png

image140.png

The private beach is open to the public; the hotel has a row of loungers on the sand for guests to use.

image141.png

image142.png

If you’re visiting with kids, Hua Hin Resort Intercontinental has its own mini train for kids plus an indoor play area. Along with the water park and beach, it’s an excellent choice for family trips. The mini train is adorable, featuring its own tracks, and although it looks tiny, it can carry passengers, offering kids unlimited rides.

Here’s how the indoor kids’ play area looks.

image143.png

Oh, and the Hua Hin Resort Intercontinental faces east, making it an ideal spot to catch the sunrise.

image144.png

The package includes a 500 THB dining voucher, and the Hua Hin Intercontinental has various dining options, including Thai cuisine, Mediterranean cuisine, a buffet restaurant, and a pool bar, making it easy to use up the voucher.

image145.png

The breakfast offerings are reliable, with a high percentage of local dishes.

image146.png

image147.png

image148.png

image149.png

Now, about the rooms: the package includes a Classic King Bed Room, categorized as a mid-tier room type, with an area of 54-65 m².

image150.png

image151.png

image152.png

This is very important! Because Hua Hin Intercontinental has two major sections of room types; the most basic rooms are actually on the other side of the street (close to the shopping mall), but the type we are offering now is located on the side of the street closest to the beach and sea.

image153.png

image154.png

image155.png

This room type is significantly better!
These specifics really can only be understood through personal experience, which is why we insist on personally checking and recommending the hotels we feature.

image156.png

image157.png

image158.png

Generally, basic rooms without breakfast already exceed over 1000 THB, but now at 1758 THB for 2 nights, it’s for a higher room type which includes breakfast, a dining voucher, and water park tickets.

And the validity period is long, which makes this a particularly good deal.

I personally visited Hua Hin three times and absolutely love it. After landing at Bangkok Airport, there are direct transport options to Hua Hin, making it a popular choice for tourists heading to Bangkok.

image159.png

Hua Hin is the Thai royal family’s vacation destination.

image161.png

image162.png

image163.png

7) Hua Hin Devasom Hua Hin Resort Ocean View Deluxe Room 1 night with breakfast, 652 THB

image164.png

Valid until October 31, 2024; no price increase during National Day and summer vacation (except Fridays and Saturdays), with surcharges of 66 THB on Fridays and 372 THB on Saturdays.

Before promoting, I’d like to clarify that this hotel is often referred to as the Hua Hin Intercontinental Resort on domestic OTAs, but it’s actually not part of IHG. Its English name is Devasom Hua Hin Resort, a well-known small luxury resort that opened in 2009.

image165.png

It has received numerous accolades from various professional organizations in the past.

image166.png

image167.png

Devasom Hua Hin Resort is a small-scale hotel, with only 24 rooms including 10 villas and 14 rooms, all very close to the sea.
Here’s a picture showing how close the hotel is to the beach. The pool is practically adjacent to the sand.

image168.png

We stayed here, and according to our photographer, Devasom Hua Hin Resort is her “dream hotel.”
The hotel features a French architectural design, combined with tropical styles, heavily utilizing light blue and white colors, making it superb for picturesque shots.

image169.png

The pool offers incredibly beautiful sea views.

image170.png

image171.png

image172.png

When we visited, traditional Thai snacks were provided for free in the afternoon at the restaurant.

image173.png

At sunset, each guest received a complimentary cocktail while staff set up beautiful reclining chairs on the lawn for guests to enjoy. If the sunset coincided, it was a double dose of romance.

image174.png

However, I’m unsure if these perks are still available, but the package price is already very attractive regardless.

The hotel’s rooms are stunning, with natural light filtering through the shutters, creating a beautiful vintage ambiance—it’s a comfortable coastal hideaway.

image175.png

Below is the room picture we took during our stay, which was an ocean-view villa but not the package’s room type.

This package offers an Ocean View Deluxe Room, measuring 50 m², with sea views.

image176.png

I can only share official pictures for this room type since I didn’t stay in it. However, it features a view and includes a bathtub and balcony.

The package also includes breakfast, which is highly recommended; here’s a collage of the dishes we tried during our last visit.

image177.png

Additionally, the hotel offers a free shuttle to Hua Hin Market, which is worth exploring.

However, please note that the price of this hotel package is not significantly different from the calendar rate. We even checked several dates, and for some specific dates, the calendar price was cheaper.
The reason for our recommendation is based on our visit; we feel that the current package price is low, while the hotel’s actual value is higher than the package price.

image178.png

However, when redeeming, ensure to compare it with the calendar price. If the calendar rate is cheaper, opt for that instead.

I believe the current pricing for this hotel is underrated.

8) Hua Hin Capella Hotel Sky Pool Suite 1 night with breakfast + 2 drinks at The Rock Bar, 1088 THB

Valid until March 31, 2025; surcharges of 153 THB per night on Fridays and Saturdays, no price increase during National Day (except Fridays and Saturdays), and increases from November to March (for details see the page).

This is a small boutique hotel, and the highlight is that even the basic room has a private pool.
The room type offered is a Sky Pool Suite measuring 80 m², with the room’s balcony connected to a private pool, which feels very cozy.

Furthermore, the hotel is very close to the beach and the sea. Many public areas overlook the shoreline, enhancing the vacation feeling.

image180.png

This hotel opened in 2011 and underwent renovations in 2022. Although we haven’t visited it yet, the pictures suggest that the public areas are relatively well-maintained.

The price comparison between the package and calendar rates shows a very clear difference.
