Today’s feature is on Bali, with four groups of products available in total. For most people traveling to Indonesia, Bali is the top choice. The Enjoy Travel team has visited Bali four times in the past year, and we all really love this place.

Bali is suitable for us because it has many top hotels, perfect for vacationing. Bali has the highest density of Aman resorts in the world, including Aman Nusa Dua, Aman Villas at Nusa Dua, and Ubud’s Aman Danu. Bali is home to Bulgari, which has only seven properties worldwide. There are four Alila resorts in Bali, while currently, there is only a pitiful one in the domestic market. Additionally, Bali offers Six Senses, The Ritz-Carlton, Raffles, Capella, Hoshinoya, Banyan Tree, and two Four Seasons. This is only the international brands; locally, Bali boasts even more brands, including the famous Mulia and Ayana, both of which are top local hotels. Hence, this place is a paradise for hotel lovers.

Today’s offerings mainly include the 2+2 combination of Nusa Dua and Ubud, along with day tour redeemables in Bali. Not only are there packages available, but I will also share how to truly enjoy Bali.

image2.png

First, let’s highlight the products. This time, the store is a self-operated shop by Fliggy, so you can confidently stock up. The self-operated shop is a domestic store, meaning you can enjoy the benefits of no repayment on Huabei (an installment payment service).

1) Two nights at Alila Ubud (including breakfast) + two nights at Mulia Resort (including breakfast) + a double afternoon tea at Mulia The Bar or Tapas at Sky Bar for 6,299 yuan and up for two people. Valid until December 12, 2024; please see the page for additional charges and exclusions. The order of stay is Alila Ubud first, then Mulia.

We have stayed at these two hotels; Mulia was less than half a month ago, and Alila Ubud was less than a year ago. This is a classic combination of Nusa Dua (beachside) and Ubud (tropical rainforest, rice terraces, culture). Both Mulia and Alila are excellent hotels.

I really like Nusa Dua. Nusa Dua is the affluent area of Bali, with a winding coastline stretching for dozens of kilometers, lined with five-star hotels. The G20 summit was held in Nusa Dua at the end of 2022, which led to large-scale infrastructure improvements. Currently, the facilities and hardware in the Nusa Dua area are among the best in Bali. During the G20 summit, we stayed at the Mulia, so anyone who has been there knows how great it is.

image4.png

I love Ubud even more. The fields of rice, charming countryside, rice terraces, waterfalls, and cliff swings all give Ubud a unique flavor. Just think about it—a small town loved by top hotel brands like Alila, Capella, Four Seasons, Aman, COMO, and The Ritz-Carlton must have something special. Among the small towns in Southeast Asia and South Asia, Ubud, Luang Prabang, and Galle are my favorites.

image5.png

Coincidentally, we have stayed at both of these hotels, so let’s talk about them one by one.

Mulia (Mulia Resort)

image6.png

This is the famous Mulia in Bali! Located in the Nusa Dua area of Bali, it is a comprehensive resort. A comprehensive resort means that it excels in all aspects.

For example, regarding the beach, Mulia boasts an almost one-kilometer long beach, wide enough for comfort. Among all the beaches in Bali, I’d say Nusa Dua has the best.

image7.png

In terms of pools, Mulia has many large outdoor pools. A resort should have plenty of pools!

Mulia even has two wedding chapels, with the grand serene Indian Ocean as a romantic backdrop, which adds to its charm.

image8.png

The Eternal Chapel is surrounded by the pool and features transparent glass on all sides, making it visually appealing.

image9.png

image10.png

image11.png

image12.png

image13.png

Overall, Mulia feels very luxurious, with a spacious area, excellent landscaping, and an overall comfortable atmosphere.

image14.png

image15.png

Mulia is also family-friendly, featuring a dedicated children’s pool, and the indoor kids’ club is quite large.

image16.png

image17.png

image18.png

image19.png

The children’s policy for this package is quite reasonable, allowing a maximum occupancy of two adults and one child.
– Children aged 0-3.99 stay free;
– Children aged 4-5.99 need to pay an additional 320 yuan per person (includes breakfast, no extra bed);
– Children aged 6-11.99 need to pay an additional 800 yuan per person (includes breakfast, no extra bed).

image20.png

image21.png

image22.png

image23.png

image24.png

There are many activities at the hotel, with yoga in the morning and local Balinese dance lessons during the day—staying at Mulia won’t be boring.

image25.png

image26.png

image27.png

Bali food isn’t particularly impressive, but Mulia has great dining options! They have a Chinese restaurant called The Eight Immortals, which serves delightful Chinese cuisine.

image28.png

image29.png

Next, about the rooms. This package includes the Garden View Room at Mulia Resort, which is the basic room type, measuring 59 square meters, with options for a king or twin bed. Here are our actual photos.

image30.png

image31.png

image32.png

image33.png

The room features a balcony, generally facing the garden.

image34.png

This package includes one double afternoon tea at Mulia The Bar or Tapas at Sky Bar. Although we didn’t capture it in our pictures, the view from Sky Bar is quite splendid.

Mulia is not particularly cheap; a night typically costs over 2000 yuan.

image35.png

image36.png

Alila Ubud

image37.png

image38.png

In a way, Alila Ubud is also a legend. Designed by the late Aman-designated architect Kerry Hill, it first introduced the concept of an infinity pool on a cliff, which has been imitated by hotels in Bali and worldwide. Over twenty years later, this cliffside pool still feels contemporary, providing a superb vacation vibe.

image39.png

image40.png

The 2+2 package in Bali is truly fitting. Enjoy a seaside vacation and experience rice fields in Ubud. Alila Ubud is set on the lush Ayung River Valley at the foot of Bali’s central mountains. The hotel takes advantage of the elevation difference, with most guest rooms and public areas facing the valley and woodlands, offering an incredible view.

image41.png

image42.png

The night sky in Ubud is also mesmerizing; the stars in the southern hemisphere are completely different from those in the northern hemisphere.

image43.png

image44.png

image45.png

image46.png

The rooms at Alila Ubud are a bit older; the hotel opened in 1996 and was renovated in 2012. Since we didn’t stay in that room type this time, I asked the hotel for room photos.

image47.png

We originally stayed in a luxurious king room on the second level, featuring an outdoor bath that catches the eye. However, this hotel has many monkeys, so while showering, you’re likely to be spied on by them. Please remember to lock your door; otherwise, they might come in and steal welcome fruits.

image48.png

Alila Ubud offers a semi-buffet breakfast, featuring dishes made by Alila, maintaining good taste.

image49.png

Additionally, the hotel provides free daily transportation to Ubud’s city center, with the drop-off point being a walk away from Ubud Palace and market.

image50.png

I highly recommend the 2+2 package for Bali, as the combination of Nusa Dua and Ubud is just right. Note that this package includes two nights in Ubud followed by two nights in Nusa Dua; the order cannot be changed.

2) Two nights at Bali’s Mulia Resort (including breakfast) + two nights at The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Bali (including breakfast) + a double afternoon tea at Mulia The Bar or Tapas at Sky Bar for 6,999 yuan and up for two people. Valid until September 27, 2024; check the page for additional charges and exclusions.

image51.png

image52.png

image53.png

This is a combination of Mulia and The Laguna Luxury Collection, both of which are located on Nusa Dua Beach in Bali. During the 2015 G20, we stayed at The Laguna Luxury Collection, while during the 2022 G20, we stayed at Mulia. Hence, this package is named the “Big Country Same Style.”

image54.png

image55.png

I’ve described Mulia above; now let’s focus on The Laguna Luxury Collection. The Laguna was renovated in 2022, with all public areas and rooms updated. However, we haven’t been to this one yet.

image56.png

The Laguna Luxury Collection offers butler service, with each room having a dedicated butler.

image57.png

One of the features of The Laguna is that it has many pools that are interconnected.

image58.png

image59.png

image60.png

The basic room at the hotel measures 36 square meters, shown in the image below.

This option is ideal for pure vacations, as both hotels are on Nusa Dua Beach.

image62.png

3) Two nights at Bali’s Mulia Resort (including breakfast) + a double afternoon tea at Mulia The Bar or Tapas at Sky Bar + a day trip to Penida Island (including lunch) for 4,099 yuan and up for two people. Valid until December 14, 2024; check the page for additional charges and exclusions.

image63.png
This primarily includes a trip to Penida Island for two. You are picked up from the hotel lobby and taken to Penida Island. Penida Island is a remote island from Bali, known for its cliffside sea views and unique coastal scenery—you’ve probably seen pictures of Kelingking Beach, the most famous spot on Penida Island, in many places.

Another famous attraction on Penida Island is the Angel Billabong, a natural volcanic infinity pool with the vast ocean as its backdrop, making it stunningly picturesque.

image64.png

This day trip will guide you along the west side of Penida Island to attractions like Dinosaur Bay, Broken Bridge, and Angel Billabong. Activities include snorkeling, kayaking, a club pool, and seaside swings, plus lunch is included. Most importantly, the tour includes a Chinese-speaking guide.

Bali has two nearby islands, Nusa Lembongan and Penida Island. Bali is not known for its sea or beaches, but the waters and beaches near the islands are quite beautiful.

image66.png

image67.png

image68.png

4) Bali Day Tour Redeemable (choose from five activities) for 499 yuan per person. Valid until December 20, 2024; no price increase on all dates. Minimum two people for booking.

Bali is an ideal place to relax, given how excellent the hotels are, but it is also a habit of Chinese tourists to explore and see sights. Hence, Fliggy’s self-operated service offers a day tour redeemable. Many core areas for tourists in Bali can get congested, and language barriers make it difficult to find transportation. This redeemable covers several classic activities in Bali—the Ubud stroll, volcano viewing, cliffside ocean views, dolphin watching at sea, and the unique combination of volcano and island in Penida, all designed for convenient planning while traveling.

image69.png

You can choose from five routes in Bali:

image70.png

– Ubud Line: ATV riding, Ubud Palace, traditional market, secret club, lunch, dinner. This route is suitable for those staying in other areas of Bali who wish to explore Ubud in a day tour.
– Kintamani Line: volcano hot springs, Tegallalang swing, and buffet lunch. Bali’s volcanos are indeed famous, with Kintamani being one of the three volcanoes in Bali offering beautiful views.

image71.png

– Uluwatu Line: Uluwatu Cliff, Minno Ocean View Beach Club, and cliff-top lunch with picturesque views.
– Penida Island Activity Line: round-trip transportation, west side tour, water activities, and lunch. As mentioned before, I won’t repeat myself.

image72.png
– Lovina Dolphin Watching: crab boat dolphin watching, ocean sunrise, and Baidulu Lake with a pork rib set meal. This line departs early (around 1-2 AM), as Lovina is quite far, and the drive is long; you might miss the dolphins. The benefit of this itinerary is that you can enjoy the sunrise while dolphin watching.

Baidulu is also one of my favorite spots; the water temple is located there.

Bali is indeed vast, and hiring a car or joining a day tour group is the most suitable choice.

How to enjoy Bali?

image74.png

Let me first share a map of Bali; this will give you a better sense of direction. Bali is genuinely enormous, and for comprehensive exploration, it is advisable to hire a car or join day tours.

image75.png

In comparison to other islands in Southeast Asia, Bali excels primarily in three aspects:
1) Size
Bali covers an area of approximately 5,780 square kilometers. For reference, the combined area of Phuket, Koh Samui, Boracay, Phu Quoc, and Langkawi is less than half of Bali’s size. The size allows for a rich diversity of travel experiences; you’ll find seas, beaches, volcanoes, jungles, rice terraces, and temples—all present in Bali. While other islands can surpass Bali in specific areas, no second option combines such versatile offerings like Bali.

image76.png

image77.png

2) Cultural richness

image78.png

Bali presents incredible cultural experiences. At Ubud Palace, you can watch the Ramayana ballet; the top yoga practitioners are almost all in Bali. Various cultural celebrations and religious festivals occur regularly; during our visit to Bali, we chanced upon the Silent Day.

image79.png

image80.png

image81.png

3) Abundance of top hotels

image82.png

When considering all of Southeast Asia, Bali has the most top-tier hotels, with no competitors!

image83.png

image84.png

A simple guide to Bali:
For beaches, choose Nusa Dua; it has the best beach in Bali.
For cliffs, head to Uluwatu; the combination of mountains and oceans is breathtaking.

image85.png

image86.png

image87.png
For sunsets, go to Jimbaran; enjoy a seafood feast while watching the sunset and planes take off—what a comfort!

The neighboring islands worth recommending are Nusa Lembongan and Penida Island; they offer the best waters in Bali.
