You know that every summer vacation, the hotel prices in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area rise more dramatically than concept stocks, and it is certainly the few hotels by the sea that are responsible for this.
One in Zhoushan and one in Xiangshan, due to the scarcity of hotels and the abundance of tourists, the hotel prices during summer weekends can rise to two or even three times that of the off-season; this is just standard market behavior.
However, in a market-driven environment, where there are rises, there are also falls. Just look at this year; Zhoushan’s Zhujiajian has opened two large hotels, and with their promotional packages, other hotels quickly felt the heat.
Competition is definitely good for us consumers. Not only have hotels launched promotions during the peak summer season, but they’ve also reduced their price increases!
Last week, we recommended the package at the Crowne Plaza Zhoushan Seaview Hotel, and it’s a hotel that offers nearby excursions for immediate use. I stayed there this week.
You wouldn’t believe it; despite the temperature not being too different, Zhoushan feels much cooler than Hangzhou! Plus, with water play, it’s definitely an effective way to beat the heat.
This hotel is one of those places where you think the price is good at first glance, but you find out it’s actually an incredible deal when you stay.
I couldn’t sleep at midnight, so I checked the calendar and saw the price—it was so exciting! The package I snagged on Monday for 699 also included a set of tea?!
Initially, I planned to write a report on it, but the hotel said not to waste it—let’s just do a full refund. So today, not only do we have the freshest check-in report, but I will also cover the package details.
As a destination for nearby travel, especially for seaside vacations, I’ve stayed at quite a few Zhoushan hotels, and this hotel’s value is truly remarkable.
First of all, of course, is the great location.
No hotel can boast of advantages without discussing its location; the Crowne Plaza Zhoushan Seaview is located within 10 minutes’ drive to attractions like Nansha Scenic Area, Wushitang Scenic Area, Guanyin Dharma Realm, and Baishan Scenic Area (Impression Putuo).
If you want to head to Putuoshan, it’s only about a 10-minute drive from the hotel to the pier, making for a relaxing vacation experience. For shareholders coming from other provinces, it only takes about 15 minutes from Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport to the hotel.
In addition to its excellent geographical location, I also want to highlight the hotel’s terrain. Built on a hillside, the design allows the hotel to enjoy a unique bay view.
While the beaches in Zhejiang may not have the highest aesthetic appeal, those who appreciate good food understand the value of Zhoushan.
With sailboats dotting the water and the evening glow reflecting on the sea surface, you can witness this captivating scene from the viewing platform in front of the hotel.
Secondly, the room hardware is excellent. This year, Zhujiajian has seen the opening of three new hotels: Koyuan Senbo, Changqiao, and this Crowne Plaza. All hotels are based on actual materials and photos, making it easier for us to conduct horizontal comparisons.
While the amusement park and aquarium are strong points of Senbo and Changqiao, Crowne Plaza smartly focuses on hardware rather than competing in their strong areas, which is indeed an ingenious application of strategic differentiation.
As an InterContinental brand hotel, both I and my photographer friend agree that Crowne Plaza offers the best rooms among the three new hotels. In addition, the basic room types start at 40㎡, with an option for twin beds, making it suitable for families.
I have done the math; the price increase during summer at Senbo and Changqiao is significantly more than the cost of admission. Therefore, the most perfect and economical Zhoushan vacation plan is to stay at Crowne Plaza and play at Senbo or Changqiao (about a 15-minute drive between the hotels).
Staying comfortably and having fun—this is the essence of drawing upon the best practices from various sources.
The last advantage is that the Zhoushan Crowne Plaza is new but not “too new.” The hotel started operating in the second half of last year and officially opened in January of this year. With a location by the sea, it has withstood the coastal breeze for half a year, and I have personally verified that there is no smell of renovation from anywhere in the hotel.
Especially if you’re planning to bring children, I would highly recommend you stay at Crowne Plaza.
Due to limitations in the last article’s length, I did not cover the hotel in depth, and today I’ve made sure to enhance that discussion. I believe that after reading this article, you will feel the same way as I do: this package is simply outstanding!
As previously mentioned, the hotel is built into the hillside. The hotel’s entrance and lobby are located on the 5th floor, with guest rooms and public areas descending sequentially, giving it a bit of a “small seaside pit” vibe.
While I mentioned that the recreational facilities may not match those of Senbo and Changqiao, Crowne Plaza has plenty of things to do; the public areas are spacious, and the facilities are abundant.
Playing in the water during summer is a must, and the hotel’s outdoor pool is now open! The pool is large, and there are several recreational facilities available.
Parents can relax in the sunken seating areas, allowing everyone—young and old—to unwind. This is what a vacation is all about!
If only the kids are having a great time while adults are exhausted, that’s just working for the kids.
The Zhoushan Crowne Plaza is not strictly a family hotel, but it does offer plenty of family-friendly facilities. Besides the swimming pool, there’s a large children’s activity room that’s free for hotel guests.
Quiet children can read picture books or do crafts, while energetic kids can play in the ball pit, bounce on trampolines, and slide down slides.
There’s even a separate multimedia room where kids can gather with friends to watch cartoons. In any case, staying at Zhoushan Crowne Plaza with kids is totally hassle-free for parents.
Moreover, during the summer vacation period (July 15 – August 31), the hotel has specially prepared children’s activities. Currently, these activities are free, so all hotel guests can take their kids to participate, and having two children is also free of charge—how generous!
I’ll share an activity schedule for reference, but these activities will be organized according to daily arrangements. During the summer vacation, these children’s activities happen every day and last for most of the day, providing parents with some much-needed relief.
As a new hotel, it is fully equipped. Even if it’s not a family vacation, you can still relax and leave your worries behind.
The hotel features a spacious and modern gym, plus a well-equipped yoga room.
Different vacation demographics utilize the hotel in an orderly manner; children are all outdoors at the pool, while the indoor pool belongs to the adults.
There’s also a dedicated activity room with billiards, table tennis, and foosball, making it even more enjoyable for families traveling together.
In fact, there is also a patch of grass in front of the lobby, so for someone like me, who is the ultimate lazy person and tends to keep camping gear in the car’s trunk, you can even do some self-service camping at Zhoushan Crowne Plaza.
The more I explore, the more I find that this hotel has a vast amount of public space and great facilities.
Dining in Zhujiajian near the hotel is convenient. Just a 10-minute drive away from the hotel is a street lined with seafood restaurants, where the food is incredibly fresh.
While it’s currently the fishing prohibition period, there is still a steady supply of fresh catch coming from the nearby waters, ensuring that visitors to Zhoushan can enjoy a feast.
