Today marks a major promotion hosted by Gaode Map and Shou Lv Hotel Group. Let’s celebrate! The Zhoushan Zhoulv Nanyuan Maritime Silk Road Hotel is finally ready!!! I know this is a highly anticipated hotel for everyone.
Gaode Map has consistently focused on travel services and location-based information services. Using Gaode for your travels not only helps you navigate to your destination, but also helps you discover “delicious, fun, and good living”. This time, Gaode has created a special page for all products; simply search for the keyword “Recommended by Xiyou” in the Gaode APP to access the promotional page.
The key is that Gaode will continuously offer some “exclusive” great prices! These great deals will also be subsidized further by Gaode, allowing the hot deals to get even hotter.
In this promotion, Gaode has collaborated with Shou Lv Hotel Group’s luxury and premium hotel membership club, Bravo. Classic national brands like Jianguo, Jinglun, and Nanyuan are all part of their membership. Even the renowned Aman at Summer Palace has owners from Shou Lv Group.
Here’s a chart of the five promotional products:
Before placing an order for certain products, remember to grab a coupon; I’ll outline the steps for coupon collection below.
The highlight of this promotion is the Zhoushan Zhoulv Nanyuan Maritime Silk Road Hotel. It’s located next to the national scenic area of Zhoushan, specifically the East Sand Scenic Area in Putuo District, and the hotel features four styles: Chinese, Southeast Asian, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern, all visually stunning.
Let me post some pictures to give you a glimpse of the place. Here’s the Chinese Jiangnan courtyard.
The Mediterranean-style courtyard looks incredibly beautiful at night.
The Middle Eastern courtyard feels like a scene right out of “One Thousand and One Nights”.
And here is the Southeast Asian courtyard, rich in Thai style.
Doesn’t it feel great? Here are the products I recommend:
1) Stay in a luxury double or king room for 2 nights including breakfast + a couple’s sea salt thermal soak for 1398 RMB (September 1348 RMB after coupon).
Valid until June 30, 2024; cannot be used during Qingming, May Day, and the day before. For Dragon Boat Festival (June 8-10), there is a surcharge of 400 RMB per night, and a surcharge of 300 RMB per night on Fridays and Saturdays.
Search for the keyword “Maritime Silk Road Package” in the Gaode APP to purchase. The hotel packages on Gaode are flexible and refundable; they will be refunded automatically upon expiration, so you can buy with confidence.
It is advisable to start with a luxury room when experiencing this hotel, as standard rooms measuring 30-45㎡ do not fully capture the luxurious holiday experience. The luxury room in this package is 55m², with room types randomly assigned among the four design styles.
2) Zhoulv Nanyuan Maritime Silk Road Hotel – Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard Sea View Room for 2 nights with breakfast + a couple’s sea salt thermal soak for 1098 RMB (1048 RMB after coupon).
Valid until June 30, 2024; cannot be used from May 1-5; no price increase for Qingming (April 4), costs an additional 300 RMB per night from April 5-6, and 400 RMB per night during Dragon Boat Festival, with an additional 300 RMB on Fridays and Saturdays.
Search for “Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard Package” in the Gaode APP to purchase. Hotel packages on Gaode are also refundable, allowing peace of mind when booking.
This is another hotel located right next to the Maritime Silk Road. The rooms may not be as large as those in the Maritime Silk Road Hotel, but they do offer sea views and have their own sea salt thermal waters with stunning vistas.
Additionally, there are night packages.
3) Zhoulv Nanyuan Maritime Silk Road Hotel – Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard Garden View Double Room for 1 night with breakfast + afternoon tea for two + sea salt thermal soak for two, priced at 698 RMB; for 1 night with breakfast + buffet dinner for two + sea salt thermal soak for two, for 998 RMB (948 RMB after coupon).
Valid until June 30, 2024; cannot be used from May 1-5; no price increase for Qingming (April 4); an additional 300 RMB from April 5-6; 400 RMB during Dragon Boat Festival, and 300 RMB for Friday and Saturday nights.
Search for the keyword “Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard Package” in the Gaode APP to purchase. Again, the hotel packages on Gaode are flexible and refundable, giving you confidence in your purchases.
Now, let’s get to a detailed report.
The Maritime Silk Road Hotel is quite famous in Zhoushan, and there are only a handful of hotels with beachfront access. If I remember correctly, there are only three: The Westin Zhujiajian, Maritime Silk Road, and Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard. They all share the same beach, situated at the East Sand Scenic Area of Zhujiajian. I suggest going on a sunny day as the sea is quite beautiful here.
The hotel seamlessly connects with the sea. From the hotel lobby, you can walk across a large lawn directly to the East Sand Scenic Area on Zhujiajian Island, where you can enjoy the waves and sand.
Inspired by the maritime silk road, historically, it connected China through the South China Sea countries, crossed the Indian Ocean, entered the Red Sea, and reached East Africa and Europe. This hotel replicates the essence of the maritime silk road, showcasing integrity from the architectural design to every detail of the rooms in styles reflecting Jiangnan, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.
One of the most unique features of the Maritime Silk Road Hotel is, as its name suggests, the vast hotel space with picturesque scenes at every step, creating independent courtyards that are quiet and thoughtfully equipped with shuttle service between the lobby and the courtyards.
Among the four courtyards, the Southeast Asian courtyard provides the most immersive experience with a strong Thai flair.
If you happen to catch the rainy season or a typhoon, the island’s atmosphere is slightly salty and humid. Paired with swaying palm leaves, the immersive Southeast Asian atmosphere captures you instantly.
Most rooms are king-sized, adorned with romantic canopies, and small balconies offering expansive views.
The unique feature of each courtyard lies in the soft furnishing details intrinsic to their respective themes, but all rooms come standard with a terrace and a bathtub, providing a great view and a comfortable relaxation environment. While the island can be a bit humid, every room is equipped with a dehumidifier that works continuously when occupied. The mini-bar is free but limited in beverage variety, providing local Pu Tuo tea and a coffee capsule machine.
The Middle Eastern courtyard is the most photographed of the four, characterized by its white architectural style and an exotic religious feel, and staff have mentioned that many photography teams often visit this location.
Rooms in the Middle Eastern courtyard, like the Southeast Asian ones, primarily feature king beds and are elegantly decorated to resemble a princess’s quarters.
The bathtub in the Middle Eastern courtyard is unique, designed as a sunken style.
The Mediterranean courtyard resembles luxurious mansions, boasting two gardens in the public area.
During the day, the Mediterranean courtyard may seem unremarkable, but returning at night invokes a sense of solitude reminiscent of scenes from the movie “La Dolce Vita”.
However, the rooms in the Mediterranean courtyard are somewhat simpler compared to others, with most being twins.
As for the Jiangnan courtyard, it is very familiar to those from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, featuring a Suzhou-style garden aesthetic with white walls, black tiles, pavilions, and flowing streams—perfect for friends visiting from afar.
Rooms here are mostly twin-bedded and follow the standard design of a five-star hotel room.
There are also outdoor hot spring pools facing the sea. A total of 32 outdoor soaking pools offer breathtaking views, with the largest resembling an infinity pool from certain angles. The water is filtered seawater, hence it is referred to as a seawater hot spring.
Indoor, there are a few small soaking pools available for those who prefer indoor relaxation.
The package includes a couple’s seawater hot spring voucher, and it is highly recommended to take the shuttle to soak (though it’s also walkable).
Next, let’s talk about the Zhoulv Nanyuan Maritime Silk Road Hotel – Haotian Terrace Hot Spring Courtyard. This is essentially phase two of the Silk Road, launched as an independent hot spring hotel, and features the previously mentioned seawater hot spring.
This package offers a secondary-level sea view room of 30㎡ with unobstructed sea views, albeit smaller than those in the Silk Road Hotel.
Now, regarding dining, one package includes afternoon tea while another offers a buffet dinner. We have dined there before, and the food is quite satisfying. Breakfast is served in the Persian Bay buffet restaurant, with plenty of options. This island buffet is quite generous, offering seafood even for breakfast. There was a station for Zhoushan seafood noodles where you could select your own seafood and type of noodles, or choose from rice cakes and wontons; I indulged in this for three consecutive days.
They also offer a buffet dinner themed around seasonal dishes, with the recent spotlight on crayfish.
The dinner buffet is priced at 198 RMB per person. Therefore, for one night including breakfast, with two buffet dinners and two thermal soaks for 948 RMB after coupon is a fantastic value.
The hotel’s Chinese restaurant is called “Shili Jinsha”, specializing in East China seafood cuisine.
There are also many fun activities around both hotels. Zhujiajian Island isn’t large, covering just 72 square kilometers, and travel to any location on the island takes less than 20 minutes. Must-visit attractions include Da Qingshan and Guanyin Dharma Realm. Da Qingshan is a national forest park offering the bluest seas on Zhujiajian Island.
The Guanyin Dharma Realm is one of the three major Buddhist attractions in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai (the other two are Nanjing’s Niushou Mountain and Wuxi’s Lingshan). We have written a detailed introduction about it; it is the place with the highest number of Guanyin statues nationwide, which surprisingly isn’t on Putuo Mountain!
To the north of Zhujiajian Island lies the famous Pu Tuo Mountain, the Bodhisattva’s island, with the Wugong Temple pier heading to Putuo located at Zhujiajian. Those who wish to worship can plan an extra day at the Maritime Silk Road Hotel, enjoying a mini-vacation by the sea, walking on the beach, and savoring local seafood, and definitely not too boring.
