Rush for the good goods! Today’s highlights are the Labor Day, summer vacation, and National Day trips at no extra charge.

Once again, there’s a temporary promotion, and Little Pig’s spring sale has brought a wave of great products. Today, I’m focusing on overseas products, and we’re looking at around 20 domestic bestsellers for tomorrow, which is Monday. Little Pig has finally started to make a move.

Today, there are just three options! I will need to explain some details about the overseas products.

The famous Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel in Galle, Sri Lanka offers a luxurious room for 3 nights, including daily breakfasts and dinners for 4599 RMB. There are no additional charges during Qingming, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, or National Day; some dates during the summer may incur extra charges (details are on the page).
Affordable alternative to Club Med! Sunwing Hotel in Phuket (two options: Kamala or Bang Tao) for 3 nights with breakfast + one lunch during the stay + children’s ice cream for 1699 RMB. No additional charges for Labor Day, summer vacation, or National Day.
Guangzhou-Phuket free travel package (Round-trip flight with Spring and Autumn Airlines, including taxes and luggage + 1 night at a 4-star hotel + airport transfer) for 1699 RMB per person. Flexible cancellation policy for the free travel package!

First up is the promised Sri Lanka, focusing on the southwestern vacation area.
A few days ago, we promoted the Plus version for central Sri Lanka (Negombo-Kandalama-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya), where you can experience the gems of central Sri Lanka over 7 days and 6 nights.

image4.png

Central Sri Lanka primarily features ancient cities and tea plantations, showcasing culture and nature.

I believe many will feel it’s not enough, as Sri Lanka is large with plentiful travel resources. There’s a saying that goes, aside from snow, this place has everything.

image5.png

Thus, this year’s package for southwest Sri Lanka has arrived, offering a perfect connection to the recently promoted Plus version.

image6.png

Sri Lanka’s southwest specializes in a pure beach holiday.

image7.png

Moreover, it’s the renowned Jetwing brand.
1) Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle, Sri Lanka – luxurious room for 3 nights, including daily breakfasts and dinners for 4599 RMB. Valid for stays until October 31, 2024 (check-out date), and reservations must be completed by June 30. No extra charges during Qingming, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, or National Day; some dates in summer may incur additional charges (detailed on the page).

image8.png

On the calendar, this hotel without breakfast usually sells for over 1500 RMB per night (some better dates are even more expensive). Including daily breakfast and dinner, the total for 3 nights is 4599 RMB, which is still a high value for money.

image9.png

I have visited Jetwing Lighthouse. The hotel is located near Galle Fort and is also not far from Mirissa (a whale-watching locale); Sri Lanka’s famous stilt fishermen are nearby. You can enjoy a holiday here while also having various activities around.

image10.png

image11.png

In my previous articles, I mentioned that the top three hotels in Sri Lanka are Relais & Châteaux, Aman, and Uga Escapes; the mid-tier three are Heritage, Jetwing, and Cinnamon. Jetwing has over 20 resorts, with my top recommendations being Jetwing Lighthouse in Galle, Jetwing Lake in Dambulla, and Jetwing Lagoon in Negombo. All three were designed by Geoffrey Bawa, known as “the light of Sri Lankan architecture.”

image12.png

image13.png

image14.png

Jetwing Lighthouse is situated 5 kilometers north of Galle Fort and is significantly visible, resembling a lighthouse, hence the name Jetwing Lighthouse. It is one of Geoffrey Bawa’s later works, showcasing his mastery.

image15.png

image16.png

image17.png

image18.png

image19.png

Bawa’s design of Jetwing Lighthouse creates a very comfortable ambiance of light and shadow.

image20.png

image21.png

image22.png

image23.png

I have three memorable points about Jetwing Lighthouse.
One is the stunning lobby entrance, where you’re greeted by steep cliffs and the waves of the Indian Ocean, feeling the ocean winds.

image24.png

image25.png

Secondly, there’s a sculpture on the three-tiered spiral staircase that reflects the history of Sri Lanka’s invasions. Sri Lanka was long colonized by the Dutch and British, and as the most prominent designer in Sri Lanka, Bawa likely intended to express his disdain for the colonizers—certain events should not be forgotten.

image26.png

image27.png

image28.png

image29.png

Another notable area is the spa zone at Jetwing Lighthouse, with a soaking pool facing the sea, offering breathtaking views.

Of course, the outdoor swimming pool is also excellent.

image30.png

The hotel has a beach, but it has more rocks, and the waves can be quite strong (possibly due to my visit in January). Seeing the big waves, I didn’t go swimming.

image31.png

image32.png

image33.png

image34.png

The rooms at Jetwing Lighthouse are quite spacious; the luxurious room in this package measures 60 square meters and features a balcony, with most of this room type offering sea views. This room can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Comparatively, Jetwing rooms are indeed larger than those in Heritage hotels. Since this is a resort hotel, comfort is essential.

image35.png

image36.png

Sri Lankan hotels generally provide breakfast and dinner. Meals are served in the main restaurant, Cardamom Café, which has sea views and outdoor dining options.

The food is decent, with a buffet style. However, Sri Lankan cuisine has a relatively high emphasis on curry, so those who aren’t fond of it may find it somewhat challenging to get used to. There is also a plentiful amount of seafood, whereas beef and lamb are relatively scarce.

Nearby attractions mainly include Galle Fort and Mirissa.

image37.png

Galle is Sri Lanka’s third-largest city and a must-visit, embodying much of Sri Lanka’s modern history. The Portuguese were the first to colonize Galle, followed by the Dutch and then the British. Galle is filled with colonial historical sites, including post offices, police stations, temples, clock towers, and lighthouses left by colonizers.

Galle’s most remarkable achievement is that local workers replicated European architectural designs here, making it a European-style town.

image38.png

I recommend staying at least 2 nights to fully enjoy the experience. I’ve always felt that Galle, Luang Prabang, and Ubud are some of the most pleasant small towns in Southeast Asia and South Asia.

Mirissa is primarily for whale watching, where you can see not only blue whales but also sperm whales and whale sharks. The success rate for whale watching in Mirissa during the right season is 95%.

image39.png

There are many stilt fishermen along the nearby coast. Most of them are for show, and if you give a small payment, you can take photos; you can also sit on the stilts yourself for pictures, especially lovely during sunset.

image40.png

There’s a famed coconut grove not far from the hotel.

image41.png

I should also mention the children’s policy for this package,

image42.png

image43.png

The package is for 2 adults. Children aged 0-5 stay free with no extra bed.

image44.png

Children aged 6-12 (not including 12) need to pay an additional 480 RMB per person per package (including breakfast and dinner) with no extra bed.

image45.png

Children aged 6-12 (not including 12) need to pay an additional 840 RMB per person per package (including breakfast, dinner, and an extra bed).

image46.png

Children aged 12 and above are treated as adults and require an additional payment of 1320 RMB per person per package (including breakfast, dinner, and an extra bed).

image52.png

image53.png

image54.png

This package is perfect for those looking to enjoy a vacation in Sri Lanka, primarily exploring the southwest coastline. You can also combine it with the Plus version for the central region we promoted a few days ago, thus covering both central and southwestern areas.

2) Sunwing Hotel in Phuket (Kamala/Bang Tao two options) for 3 nights with breakfast + one family lunch during the stay + children’s ice cream for 1699 RMB.

image55.png

image56.png

Validity: April 6 – October 31, 2024 (latest check-in date is October 29), no price increase for any date.
Each room can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children (under 12 years).

image57.png

image58.png

Coincidentally, when I went to Phuket a few days ago, I stayed for two nights at the Sunwing in Kamala Beach.

image59.png

I chose to stay at Sunwing because I particularly enjoy suggesting alternatives.

image60.png

Club Med in Phuket has two alternatives, Sunwing and Robinson. Both focus on family-friendly options but are priced at only one-third to one-fourth of Club Med, which is an excellent value for money.

image61.png

To sum it up, Sunwing offers over 20 types of free activities suitable for children daily, including performances (though the performances aren’t daily). This is primarily a place for families with kids.

The package includes a club room with one large bed (which can be split into two single beds) and a sofa bed (as shown in the picture).

image62.png

This room is allowed for 2 adults and 2 children, and it doesn’t feel cramped at all thanks to the size of the sofa bed.

image63.png

If you have small children who need a crib, it’s available free of charge.

Each room comes equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave.

image64.png

If you’re traveling with a baby, you can make slight adjustments to request a baby room, which even provides a free stroller.

image65.png

Additionally, the hotel has many activities for families. I stayed at the Sunwing in Kamala Beach, which has about 7-8 swimming pools. Some children’s pools are shaded.

image66.png

There are numerous slides of varying sizes next to the pool. Children will definitely have a blast here.

image67.png

Plus, there are children’s classrooms, a movie room, outdoor sports fields, sand digging areas, and numerous other facilities for children and teenagers to enjoy.

image68.png

These are the hardware features, and let’s discuss the software!
The hotel has three sets of activities tailored for adults, teenagers, and children.
Adults primarily focus on fitness classes; I saw people doing aqua aerobics in the pool.

The children’s and teenagers’ entertainment options are relatively richer. Most activities are free and comparable to all-inclusive hotels.

image69.png
Special weekly activities include well-prepared cooking classes, cocktail-making courses, local markets, and nightly activities featuring varying disco or rock themes, popular shows from different eras, and a weekly clown performance.
By the way, these two hotels also offer shuttle buses to and from Patong, making travel convenient.

As for the price, 1699 RMB for a 3-night stay including breakfast and one meal is definitely a bargain. The price of these hotels on the calendar is over 600 RMB per night without breakfast.
