Grab it! Enjoy a colorful staycation at a nearby hotel with no extra charge on weekends!

I believe everyone has noticed that the travel market has recently picked up along with the weather, leading to soaring hotel prices.
Last weekend, I went to Suzhou for some spring outings. Any ordinary hotel around Jinji Lake costs more than 1000 RMB, which is truly outrageous.

image1.png

However, a lot of people are traveling these days, making tourist spots as bustling as fairs. The queue for popular snack shops on Suzhou’s Pingjiang Road can extend up to 200 meters.
West Lake is no better, with a 5-kilometer radius being densely packed with people. Personally, I think it’s far better to find a beautiful and less-crowded place to camp, sunbathe, and enjoy the spring scenery.

image2.png

This year, my new favorite vacation spot is Dishui Lake at Shanghai Lingang, which perfectly meets my essential need for less crowded and fun getaways.
Although Dishui Lake is artificial, it perfectly fills the gap of having no lakes in the Pudong New Area and is even a national water conservancy scenic area.

image3.png

Located within the living circle of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, it offers camping, BBQ, boating, and sunbathing. It’s only an hour drive from Shanghai (about 2 hours from Hangzhou), making it convenient. Plus, nearby are the popular kid-friendly destinations like Shanghai Astronomy Museum and Haichang Ocean Park.
The three hotels I’m recommending today are incredibly close to the Astronomy Museum.

image4.jpeg

image5.jpeg

Good vacation spots naturally require good vacation hotels. Today’s protagonists are Shanghai Lingang Artyzen Hotel, Shanghai Lingang Artyzen Habitat Hotel, and Lingang Domaine Yarti International Apartments.
This is the Shanghai you are looking for, and it’s still a rare weekend trip around Shanghai without extra charges.
Didn’t we just recommend the Dishui Lake Intercontinental and Haichang’s Ultraman Hotel a while back? Artyzen’s three hotels can perfectly serve as alternatives to the Intercontinental and Ultraman Hotel.

image6.jpeg

All three are Artyzen-owned hotels, though they have different positions and styles.
Artyzen Hotel is the best, with the highest positioning, combining Oriental aesthetics, art exhibitions, and culinary innovations;

image7.png

image8.png

Artyzen Habitat is more youthful, with numerous public spaces promoting interactions among guests. Its signature social hub “Sifanghui” is particularly notable.

image9.png

image10.png

Currently, random searches for hotels around Dishui Lake all cost around one thousand RMB, while Artyzen can be seen as the perfect alternative to expensive hotels, offering pleasant dining and accommodation experiences at attractive prices.

image11.png

Many are not familiar with the Artyzen Hospitality Group. Compared with many top brands, it’s relatively young.
Artyzen was established in 2013. Although its age doesn’t compete, its background and capabilities certainly do not fall short. With its headquarters in Hong Kong, it belongs to the renowned listed company, Shun Tak Holdings Limited, in Hong Kong and Macau.

image12.png

In recent years, Artyzen has been expanding rapidly, opening hotels from Beijing to Shanghai and Macau, and even had a presence in Maui, Hawaii (I’ve heard that more locations in Suzhou, Zhuhai, Chongqing, and Singapore are in preparation).

image13.jpeg

It’s important to see the hotel with your own eyes before recommending it. I personally visited last week and found it to be quite good, hence my confidence in recommending it to everyone. The main attraction is the pricing—it’s really excellent. It offers a comprehensive package of dining, accommodation, and entertainment, making it perfect for spring outings. Moreover, there’s no price hike during Qingming Festival or weekends.
Looking at Di Shui Lake now, I don’t think there are many hotels like this one left. It’s indeed a top destination for nearby trips.
Additionally, the hotel will soon start a shuttle service, making it more convenient to visit Haichang Ocean Park, the Planetarium, and the Maritime Museum.

image14.png

Following the customary practice, let me introduce the product first.

Packages 4-5 are from Artyzen Habitat Lingang, a mid-range option with the most distinctive family rooms, also suitable for young people to socialize. Package 6 is from the Dongman International Apartment next to the hotel, offering the best value for money.
I think the best value are packages 1, 4, 5, and 6.

Now, let me tell you more about these three hotels in detail.
Artyzen Habitat Lingang Shanghai

image44.jpeg

Artyzen gives me the most direct impression as an art gallery where you can escape the city’s hustle and bustle, integrating “dining, lodging, and entertainment” into one place.

image45.jpeg

Every corner here is filled with a rich artistic atmosphere, truly bringing Artyzen Hotel Group’s slogan “Art, Culture, and Emotional Wisdom” to its fullest expression.

image46.jpeg

image47.jpeg

The overall space of the hotel is quite large. Walking around it feels like experiencing an endless exhibition in a private garden, so vast that it can tire your feet.

image48.jpeg

image49.jpeg

Upon entering, you are greeted by the metal sculpture “Seeds of the Future,” co-created by Cynthia Sah and Nicolas Bertoux. I guess it aims to express the concept of coexisting with nature.

image50.jpeg

As you walk into the hotel, you are surrounded by lush greenery. According to the staff, every plant you see is real. Especially now, the vibrant scene truly feels like spring.

image51.jpeg

image52.jpeg

The check-in area features a circular installation called “Ring of Time,” made of semi-transparent fabric discs, layered and artistic.

image53.jpeg

Additionally, artworks are everywhere on the walls and in the corridors, and even the lighting fixtures are carefully selected and matched.

image54.jpeg

Because the hotel is by the lake, they have adopted a marine style, giving it a dynamic beauty.

image55.jpeg

My favorite spot is the lobby bar outside the first-floor restaurant. A large floor-to-ceiling window perfectly captures the sunlight. Sitting on the sofa reading a book in the afternoon sun is incredibly comfortable.

image56.jpeg

image57.jpeg

Moreover, there is a spiral staircase on the first floor where many young women take photos, making it a popular spot for social media. Any casual photo taken here can become the highlight of your social media feed.

image58.jpeg
I really like the garden view rooms at Artyzen, which have an elegant Chinese style. They appear traditional yet have a modern touch.

image59.jpeg

Even the lighting design in the rooms is inspired by the ocean, with blue wave-patterned murals paired with elegant and dynamic lighting, making the entire room feel gentle.

image60.jpeg

Additionally, the hotel’s lake view rooms, just a step away from Dishui Lake, offer great views. The rooms have unobstructed floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing you to easily take in the expansive lake scenery.

image61.jpeg

image62.jpeg

The room design incorporates many “water” elements, with woven fishing nets and fish scale-patterned wall art complementing each other.

image63.jpeg

The shower and vanity areas are decorated with high-end marble, giving a sense of both technology and luxury.

image64.jpeg

The rooms are equipped with coffee machines and tea bags, and they even thoughtfully provide White Rabbit candies for children.
If you want to exercise, Artyzen also has a heated swimming pool.

image65.jpeg

It’s important to note that the gyms of the three hotels cannot be shared. You need to use the corresponding hotel room card to access the fitness facilities.

image66.jpeg

Artyzen’s gym is well-equipped with treadmills, elliptical machines, and exercise bikes, so fitness enthusiasts have nothing to worry about.
Additionally, Artyzen Lingang is also a food lover’s paradise, with seven restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, so you don’t have to worry about dining options.

image67.jpeg

The all-day dining restaurant, Zitan No.1, the lobby lounge, and the hot pot restaurant Da Wan’er, as well as the bakery Yibake, the Yan restaurant, and the Lang bar, will all open this year. I imagine it will be hard to decide what to eat with so many choices.

image68.jpeg

image69.jpeg

The first-floor restaurant is an all-day dining venue, with a name and environment that match perfectly. The bright orange tones give it a full artistic feel, making it very trendy.

image70.jpeg

image71.jpeg

The breakfast selection is quite sumptuous, featuring various types of Western bread, vegetables, porridge, and Chinese steamed dim sum. The key point is that the dining hours start from 7:30 AM and end at 11 AM, which is very friendly for those who like to sleep in.

image72.jpeg

image73.jpeg

If you stay on Friday or Saturday, you can also enjoy a seafood buffet. Seafood, sashimi, and barbecue can all be ordered freely, and the previously mentioned Set Menu 1 Buffet is directly offered, making it quite a good deal.
Shanghai Lingang Artyzen Habitat Hotel
It’s just a 100-meter walk from Artyzen Hotel to Artyzen Habitat; the two hotels are right next to each other.

image74.jpeg

At the entrance stands a gleaming gold butterfly sculpture, said to be inspired by a butterfly resting on the water surface. It is both aesthetically pleasing and adds a touch of vibrancy, combining visual appeal with an artistic atmosphere.

image75.jpeg

image76.jpeg

Compared to Lingang Artyzen, Artyzen Habitat has a more youthful style and innovative design, making it more suitable for young people who yearn for sophistication and fun. Moreover, the price is somewhat lower than Artyzen.

image77.jpeg

On the first floor, there is a large public social space where you can read or work. I noticed it is also equipped with projection equipment and sound systems, making it suitable for giving presentations or holding offline meetups for young people.

image78.jpeg

image79.jpeg

image80.jpeg

The most fun part is the artwork on the walls, which features the local coastal culture of Lingang and incorporates environmental concepts. Each floor has different pieces, and there are even chairs next to the paintings for rest, making it feel just like an art gallery.

image81.jpeg

What impressed me the most were two artworks created from recyclable materials: “Stormy Waves” and “Braving the Rapids.” The entire pieces are made from the bodies and caps of Coca-Cola cans, giving a fresh and meaningful impression.

image82.jpeg

image83.jpeg

Next, let’s talk about the rooms. The rooms at Artyzen Habitat exude both elegance and modernity, with high functionality. For instance, the Artyzen Habitat Deluxe Twin Room where we stayed comes with a separate living room, effectively partitioned by a door.

image84.jpeg

The living room also features a mini kitchen, complete with a small refrigerator, microwave, and induction stove, making it fully feasible to cook for yourself.

image85.jpeg

image86.jpeg

The room’s decorations are also quite stylish, such as the ornament resembling Dishui Lake and the wall paintings specially curated by artists.

image87.jpeg

The bathroom walls are entirely tiled with marble, adding design lines to the space.

image88.jpeg

The amenities provided are from the Australian brand APPELLES, emitting a calming and peaceful woody fragrance.
If you are vacationing with kids, you can directly upgrade to a Habitat Family Room, which the children will absolutely adore.

image89.jpeg

image90.jpeg

image91.jpeg

The entire family room follows a starry sea theme, with a telescope, a starry sky tent, and even space suits available for changing. Not only would children at home love this, but I myself could hardly part with them.
Artyzen Habitat is very adept at utilizing public spaces.

image92.jpeg

To facilitate social interactions, the hotel has created a large social venue called “Connect,” which accurately speaking, is a versatile social gathering place.

image93.jpeg

Restaurant, creative studio, and even the currently trending mobile office can all be accommodated here, directly linking art and culture together.

image94.jpeg

image95.jpeg

On the second floor is the restaurant, designed as a bistro with strong design elements. Here you can enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea, and the restaurant offers different menus for each season.

image96.jpeg

image97.jpeg

image98.jpeg

image99.jpeg

This time, we have prepared a dinner set for two (Set Menu 4) for everyone. It includes black truffle steamed eggs, toast with quinoa salad, and slow-roasted spring chicken. The whole set is worth more than 300 RMB, and the quality is quite good with generous portions. The two of us girls were totally full.

image100.jpeg

The fitness room at Atour S Hotel is quite spacious, over 100 square meters, with a nice view. There are plenty of equipment and it’s private — you need to swipe your room card to enter, which I like.

image101.jpeg

The two hotels are right next to each other, making it easy to stroll between them. The hotel restaurants are shared, so you can take photos, work, or just enjoy afternoon tea or dinner conveniently.
Pay special attention to the D Manor International Apartments at Lingang. The cost-performance ratio is really high. Staying two nights in Shanghai only costs 799 RMB. Isn’t it genuinely attractive?

image102.jpeg

The apartments are located right opposite the Atour Hotel, just a few dozen meters on foot.

image103.jpeg

image104.jpeg

The overall design of the first-floor lobby bar is a mix of Chinese and Western styles, with beige sofas and brown bookshelves creating a simple yet sophisticated look.

image105.jpeg

The apartment rooms offer one-bedroom and one-living room, one-bedroom and two-living rooms, as well as family suites. The style is minimalist, and the rooms come with basic facilities like Siemens refrigerators and washing machines, making them very suitable for young friends gathering or families with kids.

image106.jpeg

The key is that the price is indeed quite reasonable. A deluxe apartment with one bedroom and one living room or one bedroom and two living rooms costs 799 RMB, and it includes fruit and vegetable picking.

image107.jpeg

If you need office space, the first-floor lobby can also easily solve that. I’ve heard many people who work nearby have monthly rentals here. The overall space is quite cozy.
Next, let’s talk about the surroundings of the hotel.
Within a ten-minute walk, you can reach the Shanghai Astronomy Museum.

image108.jpeg

image109.jpeg

The Astronomy Museum is really popular this year. After all, it’s the largest by building area and the most advanced in the world. Whether you are an adult or a child, you can have a lot of fun inside.

image110.jpeg

Our colleague Lei Lei recently went there and recommended it to everyone in the office. She said it’s truly worth visiting and even prepared a guide, claiming that the tickets are harder to get than Moutai. Luckily, I finally got the most sought-after ticket in the country!
Besides the Astronomy Museum, the hotel is also near Haichang Ocean Park, just a few steps away.

image111.jpeg

image112.jpeg

Haichang is truly a gathering spot for families with kids. I’ve already seen many “moms” bring their kids to check it out. The park is quite large, featuring five main themes: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe. You can have fun all day long from morning to evening.
We previously wrote a guide on how to enjoy Haichang. For details, you can check here for discounts up to 50%! Plus, the complete guide to Haichang.

image113.jpeg

Additionally, the Nanhui Mouth Seaside Park next to the hotel is also great for a stroll. If you can get up early, you can catch the sunrise, watching the red glow gradually tint the horizon — it truly feels romantic, like a seaside vacation.
Having said so much, let me summarize for you.
1, 4, 5, and 6 have the highest cost-performance ratio. Grab them, grab them, grab them!

image114.jpeg

Important things are said three times. There’s no price increase on weekends or Qingming Festival. The package is valid until June 30th, perfectly covering the Qingming, May Day, and Dragon Boat Festival holidays.
Right now, everyone’s eager to escape to faraway places, but this is the perfect time to choose a spot to unwind around Shanghai without the crowds.
