For many destinations where we frequently recommend hotels, we definitely push more for places like the Yangtze River Delta, and we recommend hotels in Xiamen and Hainan quite often too.
For these high-frequency destinations, our selection standards become stricter.
After all, with so many options available, we can’t be attracted to those “little beauties” that are just average in terms of location and quality. Have you asked any nearby “sea kings” about their thoughts?
We believe in seeing things for ourselves, and we’ve been to the Xiamen Portman Seven Stars Bay Hotel four times, recommending it more often than that, with excellent feedback each time.
This “native of Xiamen” truly enjoys a high reputation, and the price exclusively offered to Xiyou shareholders today is indeed very good!
How did this high reputation come about?
Those in the know are aware that there are thousands of hotels in Xiamen, but Portman is quite rare in that it is located by the sea and has a beach.
You can view the sea and the sunrise from the hotel, and after crossing a road, you can go beachcombing and digging in the sand. Its inherent attributes as a resort hotel are certainly met!
What we fear is that the neighbor’s child is not only smart but also willing to work hard.
Not backed by any international brand, Portman’s family-friendly experience absolutely receives excellent scores.
The fully equipped Seven Stars Paradise is free for guests, while the mini club keeps the kids entertained all day, freeing up parents—activities even cater to all age groups from 4 to 60, easily attracting fans!
So why is there good pricing this time? The hotel is celebrating its anniversary.
The last time we promoted this hotel was during Double 11 (Singles’ Day); to put it plainly, it’s a case of platform face, with the hotel using excellent prices to support its “girlfriends.” While they have a good relationship with their girlfriends, can the event overshadow the hotel celebrating its own birthday?
The anniversary celebration packages have a noticeable advantage over Double 11—the duration of use covers the peak summer season.
From May to October, Portman can be seen as a different hotel; the indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool, and highland water park of the “three water play giants” will all be open, especially on weekends, where the activity schedule is busier than my workdays; parties continue non-stop!
Portman is designed with kids in mind, and it is normal for there to be a price increase during the summer vacation. However, you can confidently and boldly compare prices with calendar rooms; you’ll definitely not lose out.
After all, this promotion is for the hotel’s birthday celebration; can they undercut themselves?

Next, a detailed explanation:
1) Xiamen Portman Seven Stars Bay Hotel Xi Hai Sea View Room/Rui Hai Sea View Room/Yi Hai Courtyard Room for a 2-night stay + daily breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + buffet lunch/dinner for two + two tickets for the mini club, after discount price 1779 yuan.
Valid until October 30, additional charges apply for Saturday stays from March to June and September to October (200 yuan per night), 100 yuan for stays from July 1-5 and August 25-31, 300 yuan from July 6 to August 24 for Sunday to Friday stays, and 500 yuan for Saturday stays; additional charges are applicable during holidays, see the details page for more.
Incredible value! Let’s do the math.
Taking Xi Hai as an example, I looked up a mid-week price for April; it’s the standard off-season price for Xiamen. The Xi Hai sea view room typically costs over a thousand yuan a night, so just for 2 nights, the room price easily covers itself, and the other included items feel like extras!
The Mini Club at Portman is amazing; it caters to kids aged 4 to 60!
I’ll share a recent activity schedule for you—all bases are covered with very few hotels that consider everyone from the young to the old like Portman does.
The entry ticket price for the Mini Club is 228 yuan per person.
I’ll calculate the buffet based on the lower-priced lunch price; for two, the cost is at least 438 yuan. I’ve eaten at Portman’s buffet, and the seafood is quite good, with exceptionally high-quality oysters.
Putting this all together, isn’t it essentially half stay and half gifts? This is the kind of strength an anniversary celebration should have!
The same store anniversary package is available through other channels for 1899 yuan, but the exclusive price for Xiyou shareholders is 1799 yuan. Furthermore, a 20 yuan no-threshold coupon from the store can be combined for a total price of 1779 yuan.
Additionally, because of potential pricing differences, the meal usage time within the package is fixed and cannot be changed.
For Monday through Thursday stays, the buffet dinner for two must be used on the day of check-in; for Friday check-ins, the buffet lunch must be used the next day; for Saturday and Sunday check-ins, diners use the buffet lunch on the day of check-in; holiday check-ins must use the same-day buffet lunch.
Understanding that your tastes vary, we made a versatile deal this time, with three room types available: Xi Hai sea view room/Rui Hai sea view room/Yi Hai courtyard room.
Portman is divided into three sections, each with a slightly different style.
I highly recommend Rui Hai; it is not only new but built facing the sea, providing the best angle for viewing.
The sea view room included in the exchange offers a direct ocean view from the balcony.
Rui Hai has another advantage that the other two do not—the Seven Stars Paradise and highland pool (including the water park) are located at Rui Hai, making it the most convenient for playing.
If you can wake up at five-thirty in the morning, you can even catch a sunrise at sea from your bed.
The design style of Xi Hai is classical French romanticism, with the highest positioning of the three brothers.
With custom “Ocean Fragrance” mattresses by King Koil for Portman, 120-thread-count Xinjiang long-staple cotton bedding, Harman Kardon Bluetooth speakers, American Brizo fixtures, and Portuguese RECOR bathtubs… the hard goods have seen significant investment.
There are some downsides; while Xi Hai offers sea view rooms, the perspective may be slightly angled and not as direct as Rui Hai’s view.
To get to the highland pool from Xi Hai, you need to walk through a long corridor, although it isn’t too far.
Yi Hai Town is the easiest to recognize, with stone walls and spire-topped Western-style buildings, making for great photo ops.
Yi Hai’s rooms also have unique themes that change according to the seasons, with differing wall colors and decorations.
This room type is incredibly loved by children, as it feels like staying in a fairy tale home.
The only downside is that it is not directly by the sea, unlike Rui Hai and Xi Hai, which provide a more straightforward view.
2) Xiamen Portman Seven Stars Bay Hotel Xi Hai/Rui Hai Deluxe Room for 1 night + daily breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + two tickets for the mini club + one set of French afternoon tea, after discount price 979 yuan.
Valid until October 30, additional pricing applies similarly as above.
If you only want to stay one night, stock up on this. The deluxe rooms in Xi Hai and Rui Hai are a secondary room type, starting from 45㎡ which is spacious enough; the only difference from the sea view rooms is the view, while the hardware configuration is also top-notch.
Having the crucial mini club ticket is essential; I also managed to get a picture of the afternoon tea, and the environment is quite nice.
3) Xiamen Portman Seven Stars Bay Hotel Yi Hai Superior Room for 2 nights + daily breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + buffet lunch/dinner for two + two tickets for the mini club, after discount price 1279 yuan.
Valid until October 30, additional pricing applies as detailed above.
If you don’t have high requirements for your stay and primarily want to experience Portman’s recreational activities, choose this option.
As calculated previously, just the buffet and mini club tickets would be worth at least 894 yuan. The Yi Hai room isn’t cheap either; two breakfasts will cost around 800+ a night, making this deal incredibly cost-effective!
4) Xiamen Portman Seven Stars Bay Hotel Xi Hai Sea View Suite for 2 consecutive nights or 2 suites for 1 night + daily breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child + 200-yuan dining vouchers x2 + 2 tickets for mini club activities, after discount price 2479 yuan.
Valid until October 30; additional pricing applies similarly.
For a good stay, go directly for a suite. This package can be split for 2 nights and is suitable for bringing a whole family for a beach vacation.
The 89㎡ large suite has a grand sea view terrace; while the room price is higher, when calculated, you’ll save a lot.
Portman’s dining vouchers aren’t useless; they can be used at the hotel’s self-operated restaurants such as the “Le Wei” sea view all-day dining restaurant, “Sea Star No. 7” German music beer bar, and “Joyful Gathering” gourmet restaurant.
For dining credits of 200 yuan, they might not be enough for the buffet, but can cover breakfast.
Sea Star No. 7 is enough for a double serving for late-night snacks, but the Joyful Gathering will require extra points; this restaurant averages around 200 yuan per person, focusing on exquisite Fujian and Cantonese cuisine and dim sum.
Additionally, I’ll mention the children’s breakfast policy: for children under 1.4 meters (excluding), the restaurant charges an extra 99 yuan per person; for those at or above 1.4 meters, the extra fee is 120 yuan per person, payable on-site.
The four anniversary packages should cover all demands.
As previously mentioned, the difference in whether Portman offers water-based activities is as significant as two different hotels.
Therefore, I suggest you focus on weekends in May and June; the summer in Xiamen is particularly long, and Portman’s water play season lasts from May to October.
You are all familiar with the hotel; I’ll focus on introducing Portman’s recreational activities, starting with the regular ones.
Seven Stars Paradise
Seven Stars Paradise is a paradise for kids, featuring a large area with ball pits, slides, a playhouse, sand painting, and various other activities that kids never tire of—free for guests!
Go-Kart Club
Also located in Seven Stars Paradise, the go-kart club occupies quite the area; however, go-karting is suitable for slightly older children and is a paid activity.
Mini Club
While the Mini Club requires an additional fee (the anniversary packages include tickets), it’s probably the activity parents are most willing to pay for.
